JRS or Bust: 7 Days...

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures to date.

Day 7

One week...
My work day yesterday was horrible, but it gave me the perfect opportunity for me to watch ‘The Fugitive’ episode of the Dukes of Hazzard so that I can sing ‘Take This Job and Shove It’ with Johnny Paycheck.  Seriously, John Schneider and the Dukes of Hazzard are good for whatever ails you, lol. Now that that crisis is over, I can focus on more important things…like seeing John Schneider at the Orlando MegaCon!
My main concern today is my JRS or Bust packing checklist. I’m making sure that I have all my John Schneider memorabilia that I want to have autographed.
1.   John Schneider sings ‘Lady’ on the first Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters Show in November of 1980.

DVD
2.  John Schneider plays Jack Kincaid an unemployed musician on Twenty-six miles, an incredible show with great musical performances. Don’t get me started networks are crazy!

DVD
3.  John Schneider plays Buck in the television version of Stagecoach. I LOVE this movie!

DVD

4.  John Schneider made this Johnny & John Lost Session available and it is hilarious and fun!

CD

5.  John Schneider in a behind the scenes look of some special Collier & Co. moments: Goodbye, Traveler. I love this, imagine if your husband and his friends video-taped themselves completing a simple chore around the house…exactly...it’s hilarious.

DVD

6.      John Schneider is James Riley in Lake Placid 2

DVD

7.      Bo Duke, Yeehaa! - ‘Nuff said.

8.      My 01 hat.

9.   My John Schneider/Dukes of Hazzard t-shirt collection.

10.  A few one-of-a-kind posters and t-shirts that I created
to hang in my office that I can now get signed, Yeehaa!
I think that's everything. I have other shows and music that are digital downloads butI haven't figured out how to have him sign those.  And, of course, I have other items that are already signed...I could ask him to autograph them again-in person. Not too much right, lol.

Did I mention that it's only ONE WEEK away!
See y'all there - Yeehaa!

P.S.

11. I can't believe I forgot my DITMA (Dating in the
 Middle Ages) mug!

JRS or Bust: 10 days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

10 days...
I opened up my blog to check my JRS or Bust countdown and see that there are only 10 days left. We are about to reach single digits! My mind just did a complete, system-wide memory dump.  Deep breath, breathe. Good news though… I just checked the programming schedule for MegaCon 2011 in Orlando and John Schneider is doing a panel, “Superman’s Father” on Sunday, March 27, 2011 @ 11:20 am – 12:10 pm. If you are in the area, you will not want to miss this.  I have found snippets of panel/Q&A sessions of John answering fan questions and they are always entertaining and fun.
You have no idea how happy I am that they are doing a panel discussion. One, it would be a huge oversight not to give Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard or John Schneider fans an opportunity to have a sit-down chat with such an amiable and charming star. Second, and admittedly more importantly for me, I know that I am going to turn into a 9-year-old, little girl and go completely speechless and freak out when I see John Schneider in the flesh for the first time. (I mean, come on, I have waited over 32 years for this). This way in the panel crowd I can be a total dufus without embarrassing myself.  Bless you Mega Con 2011 Orlando! Once I let all my Fangirl hysteria out, I’m sure I will be able to compose myself for a one-on-one meeting so that I can get an autograph. My backup plan if I chicken out is to have my husband do it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
They will also have Froggy’s Photos available with John Schneider. I think Tom Wompat is wonderful and I love him on the Dukes of Hazzard, but in my version of the Dukes my husband is the brunette and I have waited a long time to get a picture for my desk of my Duke Boys, lol.
Hope to see y’all there - Yeehaa!

Dukes in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

In my Dukes of Hazzard/Star Wars Fantasy, my first step was to identify who is who.  Now that that is done, here are my pictures of the cast of players.

  • I love this picture, lol.  Now if I could just convince John Schneider to go as a Jedi Knight for Halloween and post it on the internet :).

The Dukes Ride Again on CMT

Now that the Dukes of Hazzard is back in syndication, I can see the entire cast and yes get my John Schneider fix, Yee Haa!

I can't believe I didn't find this earlier but there is this hilarious drinking game based on the Dukes. I recommend it, lol.  Just remember to use virgin drinks if you don't drink and don't ever drive afterwards.  Please check it out @ http://www.freewebs.com/hazzardcounty/.

See y'all later. Yee haa!

My Car Wars Fantasy

Alright, Alright...

I know it sounds crazy but it was bound to happen sooner or later, my Star Wars and Dukes of Hazzard obsessions have finally collided. I don't know how it happened. Maybe Celebration V took place too close to the CMT the Dukes Ride Again marathon but my brain has combined the two franchises. The more I think about it I suspect that Gy Waldron, the creator of the Dukes of Hazzard television show, was a closet Star Wars fan. Both take place far, far away and let's be honest, most people think the South is in another galaxy. The similarities don't stop there.

For a peek into my psyche take a look below:
  1. I have always thought of the fair-haired farmboy, Bo Duke, as a combination of Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian.
  2. Uncle Jesse is definately a synthesis of Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda.
  3. Luke Duke is Han Solo, since Luke Skywalker's best buddy after R2-D2 is Han Solo and for Bo that was Luke.
  4. Chewbacca, Han's faithful buddy and master mechanic for the Millenium Falcon would of course be played by Cooter Davenport, master mechanic for the General Lee.
  5. The Millenium Falcon, the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy is played by none other than the General Lee, the fastest hunk of junk in Hazzard also known to fly through the air at near light speed.
  6. Princess Leia in her skimpy, slave girl suit is given a run for her money by Daisy Duke and her world-famous shorts.
  7. Princess Leia has her ship and Daisy has Dixie.
  8. The Rebel alliance has a symbol and the Dukes have the Rebel Flag.
  9. Luke has an alternate weapon, a lightsaber and the Dukes don't use guns they prefer their alternate the Bow and Arrow.
  10. The Jedi have their temple and the Duke's have their farm.

Now on the Dark side things get a little more convoluted.
  1. I can't quite decide if Boss Hogg is the Emperor, Jabba the Hut or some amalgam of the two.
  2. That makes Rosco P. Coltrane a goofy version of Darth Vader and/or Bobba Fett and not quite as effective.
  3. Rosco could also be a Storm Trooper.
  4. The Clone Troopers were actual good guys that were genetically altered to do what they are ordered and that's a pretty good description of Enos Strate.
  5. The Droids, which are not very smart, have an earthly cousin in Cletus Hogg. Boss Hogg's not so smart cousin.

  6. Hughie Hogg, the evil nephew of Boss Hogg, could be either Count Dooku or General Grievous.

  7. The Emperor has the DeathStar and Boss Hogg has the Boar's Nest.

Now that you've seen a peak into my brain, let me know what you think and stay tuned for the movie to be posted here, soon!
