JRS or Bust: 1 Day

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures I have seen to date.
1 Day!

I have made additional Orlando MegaCon preparations to get me through waiting in line for John Schneider. I have loaded my mp3 player with all things Schneider related. It was a tough decision but I have included the following.  I tried to stay away from your typical, expected playlist.  I love ‘Country Girls’ as much as the next JRS fan, but I wanted to listen to songs that were more uncommon. I can’t wait for the Doonby Soundtrack.

1.     My John Schneider Yeehaa! Ringtone
2.     Beautiful Girl by the Renegades featuring John Schneider
3.     Don’t Wanna Change by the Renegades featuring John Schneider
4.     Lady by John Schneider on Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters
5.     Night and Day by the Renegades featuring John Schneider
6.     She’s Got a Way by the Renegades featuring John Schneider
7.     Please Come Home for Christmas by John Schneider on Tennessee Christmas
8.     Good Ol’ Boys by John Schneider
9.     Lady Grant not John Schneider but from his project Dating in the Middle Ages
10.  The Promise
11.  John's Acoustic Christmas CD
12.  The One Who Got Away
13.  Honeymoon Wine
14.  If We Can’t Have Forever

Our art school, photographer teenager will not be at MegaCon due to conflicting schedules. So I’m a little nervous now about my Schneider pics (Hubby is taking them). I bought four new high content SD cards for the digital camera and made Lil’ Strwrsgrl, our daughter, teach my husband how to really use it.  I’m a geek goddess with all things technical but Mr. Strwrsgrl thinks I will be useless for any technical assistance this weekend, for some reason.

Today, went much better than I could have expected. I didn’t have any panic attacks; although, I did distract myself by baking and cooking all morning.  Now that I have finished up at work for the week and done everything I can around the house.  (I even dusted the air conditioning vents to distract myself.)

I intend to keep a journal and record all my feelings during the Orlando MegaCon.  I did a journal for Star Wars Celebration V and it was great fun. I also intend to blog my entire experience here.  However, I will be moving on to other articles I have planned: including Doonby and many other JRS projects.

My husband says that his only worry is that I have such a good time that I become a JRS version of a Grateful Dead, deadhead. Hmmm…what a wonderful idea!

Yeehaa!

I've designed my own personal ‘deadhead’ symbol for the occasion.

JRS or BUST: 2 Days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures I have seen to date.

I think this countdown may cure me of any future need to countdown anything.  I don't think I can make it to T- 0.  Mr. Strwrsgrl says that all my insanity from this week and throughout the Orlando MegaCon weekend is forgiven in advance and not to worry about it.  He is a saint because I would have killed me by now.

An already emotional week has gotten even more so when I found out that my favorite female movie star, and I use that term rarely, has passed - Elizabeth Taylor (1932 - 2011). So today of all days, I will need my John Schneider multimedia fix more than ever.  I'm watching an alternating schedule of Elizabeth Taylor films and John Schneider projects, otherwise I will be crying all day.  The only other celebrity that I truly mourned was Walter Matthau because of what he meant to me and my father.  My husband and I both truly enjoy his work as well.  My father is also the one who introduced me to classic films and from an early age Elizabeth Taylor has been my favorite classic movie actress.  Yes it's unavoidable that Elizabeth Taylor was a beautiful woman, but it was her skill as an actress that I love.

"What is the victory of a cat on a hot tin roof?
Just staying on it I guess...long as she can."
Elizabeth Taylor will always be Maggie the Cat to me.

Likewise, I am a John Schneider fan not because he has a handsome face. (Okay, partly because he has a handsome face.) But, it takes much more than good genes from your parents and opportunity to do what John Schneider has with his career.  He is both a talented singer/musician and actor/producer/director who has done a lot of great philanthropic work - before it was fashionable in Hollywood. My dream is to one day see him accept an Oscar/SAG for his work.  I hope we both live long enough for Hollywood to give him the opportunity because he has the drive and the talent.

I know that I sound like a total sap, but this coming weekend is more than a fan meeting their icon. It is a chance for me to meet someone who has been a friend and role model to me, though we have never met.  He has delivered the right words and laughs through various characters and like today cheered me up when I was down.

I think art is about human beings communicating with each other in mind and soul through various mediums: paintings, film, theater, television, music, dance, books, etc.  I have been touched by his acting and his music and that is more than most people can say about friends they see everyday.

And...being his fan is just plain fun, of which I am going to have a mess of this weekend.

Yeehaa!

JRS or Bust: 3 Days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures I have seen to date.
One of my favorite K.D. Lang songs is Three Days.  Well, I have 3 days that I hate to be alive. Today, Tomorrow and the Next Day, lol. This is killing me! I have been in a state of mental shock.  I have busied myself with purchasing the necessary pens for autographing special items that I created, but the truth of the matter is: After 31 years I am finally going to meet John Schneider!
One thing is certain, as I have been viewing my John Schneider media in preparation for the MegaCon is that (I have loaded my MP3 player with all things John Schneider musical - Yeehaa!) Sorrell Booke and James Best both should have at least been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Comedic Performance on the Dukes of Hazzard. Mr. Booke was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role by an Actor for: "Dr. Kildare" (1961). (NBC).  For episode "What's God to Julius?". However, these two actors were consistently hilarious as their namesakes Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Yes, they had some hilarious lines, but it was their skill as actors that never wavered show after show.
We all know my feelings about John Schneider and the Emmy's, if not: http://t.co/43rrHHp. I am a life-long fan, but I have enjoyed watching John grow more skillful as an actor and can't wait to see his work on the upcoming film Doonby.  I'm hoping he will finally have a use for the paste wax.

See y'all at MegaCon - Yeehaa!

JRS or Bust: 7 Days...

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures to date.

Day 7

One week...
My work day yesterday was horrible, but it gave me the perfect opportunity for me to watch ‘The Fugitive’ episode of the Dukes of Hazzard so that I can sing ‘Take This Job and Shove It’ with Johnny Paycheck.  Seriously, John Schneider and the Dukes of Hazzard are good for whatever ails you, lol. Now that that crisis is over, I can focus on more important things…like seeing John Schneider at the Orlando MegaCon!
My main concern today is my JRS or Bust packing checklist. I’m making sure that I have all my John Schneider memorabilia that I want to have autographed.
1.   John Schneider sings ‘Lady’ on the first Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters Show in November of 1980.

DVD
2.  John Schneider plays Jack Kincaid an unemployed musician on Twenty-six miles, an incredible show with great musical performances. Don’t get me started networks are crazy!

DVD
3.  John Schneider plays Buck in the television version of Stagecoach. I LOVE this movie!

DVD

4.  John Schneider made this Johnny & John Lost Session available and it is hilarious and fun!

CD

5.  John Schneider in a behind the scenes look of some special Collier & Co. moments: Goodbye, Traveler. I love this, imagine if your husband and his friends video-taped themselves completing a simple chore around the house…exactly...it’s hilarious.

DVD

6.      John Schneider is James Riley in Lake Placid 2

DVD

7.      Bo Duke, Yeehaa! - ‘Nuff said.

8.      My 01 hat.

9.   My John Schneider/Dukes of Hazzard t-shirt collection.
t-shirt

t-shirt
10.  A few one-of-a-kind posters and t-shirts that I created
to hang in my office that I can now get signed, Yeehaa!
I think that's everything. I have other shows and music that are digital downloads butI haven't figured out how to have him sign those.  And, of course, I have other items that are already signed...I could ask him to autograph them again-in person. Not too much right, lol.

Did I mention that it's only ONE WEEK away!
See y'all there - Yeehaa!

P.S.

11. I can't believe I forgot my DITMA (Dating in the
 Middle Ages) mug!

JRS or BUST: 9 Days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.
Is it me or does the picture in my JRS or Bust diary seem to be getting bigger and bigger, lol.

Last year I attended Star Wars Celebration V and being neurotic and crazy, as you now know that I am after reading my Blog, I created an agenda of what I was going to do every second that I was there.  I actually hate having to punch a clock, at work or at play (I'm like Robert Redford that way I guess, lol.) but I wanted to see as much as possible during that Star Wars extravaganza. Now with John Schneider appearing at MegaCon Orlando, I find myself tempted to plan out my day.

Now, I know that there are going to be lots of other wonderful actors and artists attending this Mega Con. Stan Lee is going to be there for goodness sakes! (I also collect Spider-man comics.) Several Star Trek alumni, yes I admit it I like Star Trek, too. (Notice, I used the word like. To all you Star Wars fans out there, I am not being unfaithful.) But let's get one thing straight right here, right now. I AM ONLY GOING TO SEE JOHN SCHNEIDER! At Star Wars Celebration there were many things to see, at MegaCon Orlando there is but one objective: to see as much John Schneider as I can over a two day period.

Chill out, I'm not planning on stalking the man...just staring at him for two days straight. My Orlando MegaCon agenda follows:

JRS or Bust: 10 days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

10 days...
I opened up my blog to check my JRS or Bust countdown and see that there are only 10 days left. We are about to reach single digits! My mind just did a complete, system-wide memory dump.  Deep breath, breathe. Good news though… I just checked the programming schedule for MegaCon 2011 in Orlando and John Schneider is doing a panel, “Superman’s Father” on Sunday, March 27, 2011 @ 11:20 am – 12:10 pm. If you are in the area, you will not want to miss this.  I have found snippets of panel/Q&A sessions of John answering fan questions and they are always entertaining and fun.
You have no idea how happy I am that they are doing a panel discussion. One, it would be a huge oversight not to give Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard or John Schneider fans an opportunity to have a sit-down chat with such an amiable and charming star. Second, and admittedly more importantly for me, I know that I am going to turn into a 9-year-old, little girl and go completely speechless and freak out when I see John Schneider in the flesh for the first time. (I mean, come on, I have waited over 32 years for this). This way in the panel crowd I can be a total dufus without embarrassing myself.  Bless you Mega Con 2011 Orlando! Once I let all my Fangirl hysteria out, I’m sure I will be able to compose myself for a one-on-one meeting so that I can get an autograph. My backup plan if I chicken out is to have my husband do it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
They will also have Froggy’s Photos available with John Schneider. I think Tom Wompat is wonderful and I love him on the Dukes of Hazzard, but in my version of the Dukes my husband is the brunette and I have waited a long time to get a picture for my desk of my Duke Boys, lol.
Hope to see y’all there - Yeehaa!

JRS or Bust: 14 Days and counting...

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.
14 days...

It's definitely time to use my Jedi relaxation techniques. After only getting four hours of sleep before waking up to a full day of to-do's and appointments, the impending appearance of John Schneider at the Orlando Mega Con is a welcome distraction.  Every now and then, I forget myself and realize that it is going to happen and I catch myself freaking out in total fangirl glee. Seriously, this is better than riding a roller coaster.  The only way that I've been able to calm myself down is by pretending that his appearance will be cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.

I have been reviewing my John Schneider media library: The Dukes of Hazzard, Collier & Co., Smallville, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Dating in the Middle Ages, Twenty-six miles, The Secret Life on the American Teenager, Desperate Housewives, Hot in Cleveland, Working Class, NipTuck, Come Dance at My Wedding, Shark Swarm, Eddie Macon's Run, Conjurer, Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell sisters show, Christmas at Willow Creek, Ogre, Lightning from the Sky, Stagecoach, Dirty Sexy Money, Lake Placid 2, Sydney White, Wild Things: Foursome even Hero Factory, and his albums and so much more.  My fingers are getting tired. My husband says that my JRS mania is causing him to dream about John Schneider, lol.

I must say it is fun work trying to keep up with all of John Schneider's projects...here's to 50 more years!

JRS OR BUST: 16 Days and Couting

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

16 Days...

I'm getting so close to John Schneider's appearance at the Orlando Mega Con that the Dark side is trying to take a hold of me.  Another fan who was planning on seeing JRS at a Toronto convention tweeted that the appearance was cancelled because of a scheduling conflict and filming for a new project.  Now that I hear John Schneider is filming a pilot for CMT, The Dukes of Diesel, I'm excited and scared - all at the same time.  My excitement has lead to attachment...which leads to fear of loss..and fear leads to sufferring...and we all know sufferring leads to the Dark side.

Help me Beauregard Duke, you're my only hope!

I'm never sad that @therealtrueshit is too busy to tweet or post to his web page because he's working on a new project. The more he works; the more there is for we fans to see. But, this is my appearance! I guess I had better look at this the way I told the other fan to, from the bright side.  I could have a new show to watch on CMT starring John Schneider, which is aways a good thing.  I don't care what network you watch that is Must See TV.

JRS or Bust: 18 Days and Counting

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

Day 18

The days until I meet John Schneider at the Orlando Mega Con are flying by so fast I feel like I’m traveling through hyperspace, which ain’t like dusting crops, boy.  The Schneider references at work just keep on coming: today, it was Duke. I don’t even blink anymore.

I may be losing it slowly but surely, but one person at my house is unfazed by my growing hysteria and loving every second of it - my husband.  He just sits back and enjoys the show.  Apparently, I am more entertaining than must see TV. Not to worry.  I  already have definitive plans laid out to get my revenge on him.  Commencing with the wearing of a 'I ♥ Strwrsgrl' t-shirt and cap that I designed for his public embarrassment during the Orlando Mega Con. Considering that the artwork was done by our daughter, I don't think he will be that embarrassed. After all my husband is my #1 fan.
