JRS or Bust: 3 Days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures I have seen to date.
One of my favorite K.D. Lang songs is Three Days.  Well, I have 3 days that I hate to be alive. Today, Tomorrow and the Next Day, lol. This is killing me! I have been in a state of mental shock.  I have busied myself with purchasing the necessary pens for autographing special items that I created, but the truth of the matter is: After 31 years I am finally going to meet John Schneider!
One thing is certain, as I have been viewing my John Schneider media in preparation for the MegaCon is that (I have loaded my MP3 player with all things John Schneider musical - Yeehaa!) Sorrell Booke and James Best both should have at least been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Comedic Performance on the Dukes of Hazzard. Mr. Booke was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role by an Actor for: "Dr. Kildare" (1961). (NBC).  For episode "What's God to Julius?". However, these two actors were consistently hilarious as their namesakes Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Yes, they had some hilarious lines, but it was their skill as actors that never wavered show after show.
We all know my feelings about John Schneider and the Emmy's, if not: http://t.co/43rrHHp. I am a life-long fan, but I have enjoyed watching John grow more skillful as an actor and can't wait to see his work on the upcoming film Doonby.  I'm hoping he will finally have a use for the paste wax.

See y'all at MegaCon - Yeehaa!

JRS or Bust: 10 days!

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

10 days...
I opened up my blog to check my JRS or Bust countdown and see that there are only 10 days left. We are about to reach single digits! My mind just did a complete, system-wide memory dump.  Deep breath, breathe. Good news though… I just checked the programming schedule for MegaCon 2011 in Orlando and John Schneider is doing a panel, “Superman’s Father” on Sunday, March 27, 2011 @ 11:20 am – 12:10 pm. If you are in the area, you will not want to miss this.  I have found snippets of panel/Q&A sessions of John answering fan questions and they are always entertaining and fun.
You have no idea how happy I am that they are doing a panel discussion. One, it would be a huge oversight not to give Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard or John Schneider fans an opportunity to have a sit-down chat with such an amiable and charming star. Second, and admittedly more importantly for me, I know that I am going to turn into a 9-year-old, little girl and go completely speechless and freak out when I see John Schneider in the flesh for the first time. (I mean, come on, I have waited over 32 years for this). This way in the panel crowd I can be a total dufus without embarrassing myself.  Bless you Mega Con 2011 Orlando! Once I let all my Fangirl hysteria out, I’m sure I will be able to compose myself for a one-on-one meeting so that I can get an autograph. My backup plan if I chicken out is to have my husband do it. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
They will also have Froggy’s Photos available with John Schneider. I think Tom Wompat is wonderful and I love him on the Dukes of Hazzard, but in my version of the Dukes my husband is the brunette and I have waited a long time to get a picture for my desk of my Duke Boys, lol.
Hope to see y’all there - Yeehaa!

JRS or Bust: 18 Days and Counting

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

Day 18

The days until I meet John Schneider at the Orlando Mega Con are flying by so fast I feel like I’m traveling through hyperspace, which ain’t like dusting crops, boy.  The Schneider references at work just keep on coming: today, it was Duke. I don’t even blink anymore.

I may be losing it slowly but surely, but one person at my house is unfazed by my growing hysteria and loving every second of it - my husband.  He just sits back and enjoys the show.  Apparently, I am more entertaining than must see TV. Not to worry.  I  already have definitive plans laid out to get my revenge on him.  Commencing with the wearing of a 'I ♥ Strwrsgrl' t-shirt and cap that I designed for his public embarrassment during the Orlando Mega Con. Considering that the artwork was done by our daughter, I don't think he will be that embarrassed. After all my husband is my #1 fan.

JRS or Bust: 21 Days and counting...

Awesome photo I found on Alan Mercer's Profile, best John Schneider pictures and article I have seen to date.

Something weird is definitely going on with my karma. I got another consulting referral with a customer named Schneider. They asked if I needed them to spell their last name for me and I almost fell out of my chair. I have been staring at that last name for over 30 years. That's like asking me if I know how to spell George Lucas.

The other weird karma occurrence needs a bit of explanation. I plead guilty to being a horrible prankster and teasing my husband incessantly for the last 17 years. I used to be notorious for my April Fool's Day pranks, but Mr. Strwrsgrl finally revoked my privileges and I am no longer allowed to celebrate that holiday.
Well, I love to cook and bake 100% homemade cakes, cookies, bread, cinnamon rolls, pastries, etc. My latest prank involved telling my husband that since John Schneider has brought so much joy into my life that maybe I could repay the favor, if only slightly, by making John a baked-goods basket with a couple loaves of bread, some cookies and my delicious cinnamon rolls. My husband, of course, said NO!

I pretended that I didn't understand why he wouldn't want me to bake something for John Schneider. Then later that week, as we were watching The Secret Life of the American Teenager Vol 1. Ep. 10 - Back to School Special. A scene involving John as Marshall Bowman explaining to his teenage daughter Grace (Megan Park) about making lunch for a boy she likes:
My husband said that even John agreed with him. There died any hopes for John's goody basket...I hope he likes the mug I designed for him, lol.
Marshall Bowman: So you're gonna offer yourself up to him over a sandwich. Does that sound like the beginning of a good relationship to you?

Grace Bowman: Mom cooks for you every night.

Marshall Bowman: I'm sleeping with your mother.

Grace Bowman: Eww.

That marked the end of the baked-goods basket. I hope John likes the mug I designed, lol.
